Marlene Hannahs Obituary Marlene May Girard Hannahs, 70, of Jenkins, passed away peacefully at her home on August 8, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born May 9, 1955, in the home of her parents, Gleva and Orville Girard, Marlene grew up in a house filled with love, laughter, and the values that would guide her life. She left high school early to begin her greatest callingraising a family alongside her beloved husband, Ira Hannahs. Together, they built a life full of devotion, joy, and adventure, raising three children who remain their proudest legacy. Marlenes heart was most at home in the role of homemaker. She delighted in spoiling her children with warm baked goodsher famous cinnamon rolls were legendaryand hearty meals made from the bounty of her garden. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: camping and fishing trips with Ira, afternoons planting flowers and vegetables, and evenings spent at the card table, especially when the game was spades or cribbage. She and Ira loved taking long drives with no destination in mind, letting the roadand their heartsdecide where they would go. Her hands were never stillshe cooked, sewed, crocheted, and completed countless crossword puzzles. Her love for animals filled the home with the happy chaos of dogs, and even a few catsdespite Iras allergiesbecause Marlenes tender heart could never turn away a creature in need. Family was the center of Marlenes world. She had a gift for making not only Christmas and Halloweenher favorite holidaysmagical, but also the everyday moments in between. Whether through a shared laugh, a heartfelt conversation, or a small act of kindness, she made sure those around her knew they were deeply loved. Marlene was many thingsfunny, stubborn, quick to speak her mind, and unwavering in her love. She embraced life with open arms and a strong will, creating a home that was always warm, welcoming, and full of life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ira; their three children, Michael Girard, Scott Hannahs, and Amy Hannahs; grandchildren, Aaron, David, Kasandra, Abby, Markus, Desi, Curtis, Niki, Kale, and Austin; greatgrandchildren, Kylen, Chloe, Carter, and Conner; siblings, Darlene, Charlene, Debbie, Donnie and Frankie; and a loving extended family who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gleva and Orville; brothers, Jimmie and Leo; grandchildren, Samantha and Patrick; and many other loved ones.
