Marlyss Schaefer Obituary Marlyss L. Schaefer, age 88, resident of Nisswa, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society - Bethany in Brainerd. Marlyss was born on May 29, 1923 in Brainerd to Henry and Olive (Lagerquist) McGinn. She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Marlyss was a P.E.O. and belonged to the Brainerd Service League. Survivors include Children; Lynn E. (Warren) Holmes, Joen M. Schaefer, John J. (Debi) Schaefer, Grandchildren; Timothy (Jennifer) Holmes, Christopher Holmes, Megan M. (Joe)Zierden, Grt. Grandchildren; Jackson and Isabelle Holmes, Tatum Zierden. Preceded in death by her husband John C., parents and brother, Ward. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. A visitation will be one hour prior to Services at the church. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church or the Brainerd Service League.
