Marvin 'Marv' Johnson Obituary Marvin "Marv" Johnson, age 83, of Brainerd passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024. A Celebration of Marvs life will be held at 12PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home and burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd. A continued celebration will take place following the graveside service at an offsite location. Marv was born on February 11, 1941 in Montana. He started his working career by stuccoing houses and then eventually started his own drywall business, Marvs Drywall, as many knew. The best years of his life were doing drywall with his one and only child, Tom. Marv was musically gifted as well. He hosted many jam sessions over the years. He was tough as nails and literally worked until the day he died. You could find Marv having breakfast with the "boys" at The Barn, 371 Diner or Wings Caf. In November, Marv would deer hunt, but not from a tree; rather he would sit in his truck with it running waiting for that thirty-point buck. Marv fought every day with courage, especially the last six years, since losing his only child. We can rest assure that Marv is in heaven with Jesus and had quite the reunion with Tom. Marv is survived by his daughter-in-law, Leola Johnson; three granddaughters, Caelan (Joe) Dunlap, McKennan (Talon) Johnson, Karsan (Brandon) Johnson; two great grandchildren, Nolan and Magnolia Dunlap; siblings, Carol (Rolland) Helgeson of Buffalo, MN, Denise (Ron) Bang of Red Wing, MN, Rick (Kim) Johnson of Brainerd, MN, Debra (Loren) Thiesse of Brainerd, MN; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, Saundra Swearingen and Charlotte Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agatha (Ronellenfitsch) Johnson and son, Tom Johnson.
