Obituary

Marvin Lokken Obituary Marvin A. Lokken, 84, of Brainerd, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Essentia Health St. Josephs Medical Center. Marvins family will celebrate his life with a Funeral Service at NOON, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at NelsonDoran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior and stay for a luncheon. Interment with Military Honors will occur at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. Marvin was born on September 13, 1940, and is one of the six children born to Albert and Marion (Carter) Lokken. As a young man, Marvin learned early that he loved airplanes and that working in a factory wasnt for him. He wanted adventure. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1960 and had a decorated career. He honorably served his country for over twenty years and retired as a master sergeant. Marvin married Julie Fairfield in Hawaii in 1970. Blessed with two children, the family enjoyed a military lifestyle for many years calling Texas, Japan, Nebraska, Athens, and California home before landing in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Living on the farm after years of service was the peace Marvin needed and enjoyed. He liked to camp, fish, and travel. He was an avid military history buff, with an affection for WWII. Marvin felt satisfied with his adventures and his mostly complete bucket list. Marvin is survived by his daughter, Heidi Lokken; son, Michael Lokken; siblings, Lorraine McCartney, Jan Pederson, Kenny Lokken, Lorelie Urbanski, and Curt Lokken; good friend, Spencer Angel; and many more family and friends scattered across the world. He was preceded in death by his wife Julie and his parents.
