Mary Tautges Obituary Mary Lois Tautges, age 93, resident of Brainerd since 1945, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society Bethany. Mary was born September 3, 1918 in Eagle Bend, MN to Harry and Bertha (Fritz) Moellermann. She was a graduate of Eagle Bend High School and St. Cloud State University. She taught fifth grade at Lowell Elementary School in Brainerd and she was well loved and respected as a substitute teacher thereafter. She offered her home for special needs children and her patience and dedicated personality made her an excellent teacher. Her memberships included First Presbyterian Church and Women's Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, Retired Teachers Association, Elkettes, nursing home and school system volunteer, and MEA and PTA. Mary is survived by her second husband, Leo, Daughter, Jane Romito, Grandchildren, Michelle (31) and Cory (29), Greatgrandchildren, Alexis (12) and Dylan (not yet born), Step-daughters, Colleen (Paul) Insley, Joan (Roger) Svare, Karen (Jon) Parisian, Step-son, Eugene (Debra) Tautges, Step-grandchildren and one step greatgranddaughter. She is preceded in death by her first husband James Wirth, her sister Laura Akkerman, and her parents. Memorial services will be 11 AM Friday, January 6, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Brainerd with Pastor Vern Maxa officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
