Mary McHale Obituary Mary Louise McHale, 77, of Brainerd, MN passed away on February 7, 2025, at Woodland Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Mary was born on June 28, 1947, in Austin, MN to Donald F. and Virginia L. McHale. She grew up in Hastings and moved to the Brainerd Lakes area in 1971. Mary loved living on Pelican Lake where she was able to have her own German Shepard puppy. She lived with her family in the Pequot Lakes area until she moved to Brainerd in the 1990s. Mary worked at Production Alternatives, where she enjoyed making friends and earning money to go shopping! Shopping and attending events were the highlight of Marys life. She never wanted to miss a dance, bowling night, birthday party, holiday or outing, especially if it involved food! Mary was often found singing the loudest, leading exercises and making others laugh. She spent many hours watching cartoons & her crime shows. And many days were spent beading necklaces & coloring pictures, which she gladly shared. Mary LOVED people and she made you feel like seeing you was the highlight of her day. You left a visit with Mary feeling special and happy, a very rare trait in today's society. Mary noticed everything about you. She commented on your outfit, shoes & jewelry, if you got your hair cut or your nails done. She loved talking about your pets, (especially if you had a dog) and she would try to convince you to bring her a picture of him/her! She will be greatly missed by those who were blessed by her self-less, loving spirit. Mary is survived by her brother, Michael McHale of Hastings, MN; Stepbrothers John Nygren and Russ (Meg) Nygren of Pillager, MN; Step-Sisters Diane Nygren of Owatonna, MN and Juanita (Terry) Wallin of Pequot Lakes, MN and many other cousins and stepfamily members and her special friend, Crieg. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Fred & Gertrude Anderson and Francis & Helen McHale; parents, Donald & Virginia McHale; brother John McHale; stepmother Jane McHale; Uncle Richard and Aunt Delores Anderson. A special thank you to those who made life better for Mary throughout the years Confidence Learning Center, her very special "family" members Ron and Joan Johnson and the Powell family; her "family"/staff from Clark Lake Homes (her home for over 20+ years); her friends/staff from Breath of Life Adult Day Services; her friends/staff from Woodland Good Samaritan Society; the social workers from Crow Wing County and staff from hospice. Your love, care and attention for her throughout the years is greatly appreciated.
