Melonie Burgess Obituary Melonie Marie Burgess (Magnan), 52, from Merrifield passed away on 1-14-2015 at home, in her sleep, in her favorite chair with her feet warmed by the wood stove and her dog at her side. She was a caregiver in her work and in her life, working in home health care, nursing and group homes. Melonie had a special way with seniors as her personality would tickle quiet, reluctant people into opening up their lives to her. She gave dance lessons to disabled young men to help them fit in at community dances. She sat next to the widower at the funeral of his wife which she cared for, and remained a family friend. She loved escaping into a book, pontooning on Mission lake, walking the beaches in Mexico and garage sales. She is survived by her father George Magnan of Brainerd, sons Travis Liebl of Wendell, MN, Lance Liebl of Hinkley MN, brothers Tim (Monique), Kelly(Val), Randy(Kris), Tony (Kandy), and Bruce(Denise) and sister Kimmy Fox all from the Brainerd Lakes area, granddaughters Kiana and Maliah Liebl of Kerns UT, nephews Dustin (Amanda), Brandon(Becka), Tate, and Andy Magnan, nieces Kayla, Amanda, Allison, Shawna, Tamarai, Alexa and great niece Emily Magnan. She will be greatly missed by her best friend Steve Scholtes and her dog Bella. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Burgess; mother, Marlene Magnan; brother, Troy Magnan and nephew Tyler Magnan. No public service will be held per Melonie's request.
