Kohl, 76, of Fort Ripley, passed away surrounded by those she loved on December 25, 2023, at her home after a lengthy battle with ALS. A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services (at the church) as well as Wednesday (12/27) evening from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson - Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. Nancy was born September 1, 1947, in Belvidere, Illinois, the daughter of Anthony and Jenny (Carlson) Hagemann. After graduating from high school, Nancy married Allan Kohl a man she loved dearly. They raised their family in Brainerd. Although she worked as a home health aide and assisted in the school district, Nancys focus was always her family. She never missed an event. Her family loved racing BMX, motorcross, dirt-track, or ice racing, she was always in the stand cheering on her grandchildren. And when they werent racing, she attended hockey games and dance recitals. She liked to garden and has a large supply of canned foods. Baking made Nancy happy, and she loved to share her pumpkin bread, chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter brownies. Never for a lost for words, Nancy was not shy about letting you know how she felt. And how she felt about her family was nothing but LOVE. She adored them. And they cherished every second with her. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Al; children, Barbara (Kevin) Mills, Greg (Michele Jones) Kohl, and Sarah Kohl; grandchildren, Heather (Nate) Fuller, Junior (Mikaela Martinson) Kohl, Mathew (Kelsey Turcotte) Hauge, Trent (Jessie Dufour) Mills, Jordyne Mills, Nathan Kohl, and Kaitlyn Kohl; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gary (Becky) Hagemann, Theresa Rice, Judy (Bob) Buckingham, and Ronnie (Nancy) Hagemann. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Hagemann.
