Norman Nelson Obituary Norman "Norm" Rustad Nelson, age 68, of Crosslake passed away on the evening of July 16, 2013 while surrounded by family at St. Cloud Hospital after sustaining severe injuries following a tragic accident. Norm was born December 13, 1944 to Ella and Normal Nelson. He attended Orono High School and obtained his bachelors and masters degrees from Bemidji State University. Norm was a counselor at Anoka Ramsey Community College and ran a financial services company. He was a member of SCCA and auto racer for over 20 years. Norm is survived by his wife Judy of 35 years, daughter Kelsi (Steve) of Anoka, step-daughter Terri (Kevin) of Blaine, and grandchildren Jake, Alex, Emmett, and Noah. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Bemidji State University. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Brainerd with Pastor Vern Maxa officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and will continue the hour before services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake, MN.
