Opal Marie Lander, 95 of Brainerd, MN passed away on July 17, 2026, in Good Samaritan facility Woodland in Brainerd, MN. Born on October 26, 1930, to Lawrence and Mamie (Ronning) Thompson in Bigfork, MN. She married Leonard Lander in 1950 and had 3 children. Opal lived a long and loving life in Brainerd where she called home since 1968. She loved plants, birds, music and loved to write. She loved her family and friends, making friends everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, her mother and father, her brother Lawrence, brother Lyle, sister Clellie Rickert. She is survived by her son Thomas and her sister Virginia O'Neill. Interment will be held on Thursday July 23, 2026, at 10:00am at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
