Paul Fraune Obituary Paul Richard Fraune, 79, of Brainerd, passed away at his home on Monday, January 3, 2022.
A Celebration of Pauls Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services and stay for a light lunch to follow. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
Paul was born August 29, 1942, the son of William and Helen (Peka) Fraune. He grew up in Bertha, graduated from high school in 1960, and enlisted in the US Army where he served as a tank mechanic for three years. Paul made the Brainerd Lakes Area his home. He was employed by Sports Supply for many years before becoming a real estate agent. He retired from MnDOT where he worked in road maintenance.
Paul enjoyed people and had a very active social life. He made friends wherever he went. He looked forward to days spent fishing, camping, and hunting. He enjoyed many years with his wife, Jan, at their place on Winnie. His ability to fix anything or create a song out of anything was unmatched. Most of all, Paul loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but his sense of humor, quick wit, and expertise in tall tales will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his children, Michelle Eue, Tracy (Dave) Swadner, Steven Fraune, Bill (Katie) Greenwalt, and Sarah (Loren) Whitney; stepchildren, Arnie (Annette) Olson, Joy Velasco, and Lonnie Olson; grandchildren, Nick, Aleshia, Andrew, Austin, Gavin, Logan, Ian, Sadie, Wyatt, Sawyer, and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Alyvia, Chloe, Aela, Nolan, and Aurora; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Joe Fraune, John Fraune, and Mark (Kris) Fraune. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; parents, Bill and Helen; wife, Jan; and brother, Michael.
