Pearl Hellen Obituary Pearl May Hellen, 89, of the Brainerd Lakes Area, formerly of Brooklyn Park, passed peacefully with family at her side on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Essentia Health St. Josephs Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to Mass. A private interment will take place at a later date.
Pearl was born October 13, 1932, in Brainerd, the daughter of Edward and Ruby (Noakes) Meyer. She married Donald Hellen on May 24, 1952, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Pearl was a longtime member of the Catholic Church and became a Eucharist Minister for the church in 1986.
Pearl was a stay-at-home Mom until the youngest child started school. She then began her career as a Media Specialist for the Osseo School District until her retirement. She and her beloved husband Don spent their winters in Yuma, AZ and made their summer home on the banks of the Gull River in Pillager. Pearl was a member of many organizations and enjoyed a wide variety of activities with family and friends throughout her life. She cherished family gatherings; Holidays were her favorite time of the year. Pearl was loving and affectionate with a wit that never failed to make you smile or laugh.
She will be missed by her children, Diane Alexson, Mark (Kim), Kathy (Jeff) Coombs, Patricia (Kim), Barbara (Barney) Richardson, Theresa (Randy) Hradsky, and Donald, Jr. (Colleen); 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jimmy Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents; and siblings, Ralph, Jack, and Paul.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Pink Ribbon Cupboard Program.
