Phyllis graduated from Illinois University with a degree in mathematics and education. She had been a teacher, certified public accountant, and an Eau Claire County Case Worker for the last 20 years of her work life. Her love of helping young people did not end with teaching; she was also very active with the local Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO).
Other retirement activities included being a member of the Pelican Lake Conservation Club, enjoying the Pelican Lake sunsets with her husband, John, and any neighbor who wandered on to their well-known happy hour spot; and playing bridge. She loved Pelican Lake and Northern Minnesota. She will be remembered as a mother and friend who was always there when needed; she will be missed.
