Jun 8, 1956 — Aug 22, 2026
Minaki, Ontario
Minaki offered him everything he loved, the peace and quiet lifestyle, being close to nature and his hobbies of hunting, fishing, gardening and travelling with Grace.
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Butch on August 22nd in Canada after his battle with cancer.
He will be deeply missed by his mother Helen, wife Grace Tindall, siblings Rick (Jean), Lexi (Mike), Steven (Heather), and his children Kellee (Anna), Raymond, Michael (Bailey), brother in laws Rob and Tom Murray and many nieces and nephews in the US and Canada, relatives and friends.
Butch was predeceased by his father Raymond and brother Duane.
Butch was born and raised in Brainerd, Minnesota. Butch lived a life defined by hard work, love for his family and friends and a deep appreciation for the moments that mattered the most. He spent 34 years working with National Conductor out of Brainerd where he travelled all over the United States. He was respected for his strong work ethic, pride he took in his work and the mentoring of the young people starting out in the industry.
Butch met his wife Grace on one of his fishing trips to Canada. A friendship ensued and they started dating several years later in 2001. Minaki, Ontario was Butch’s second home for many years until his retirement when he was finally able to make it his permanent home. Minaki offered him everything he loved, the peace and quiet lifestyle, being close to nature and his hobbies of hunting, fishing, gardening and travelling with Grace.
Butch had a big heart and was kind, compassionate and generous towards others.
Butch had a big heart and was kind, compassionate and generous towards others. His outgoing personality and great sense of humour always made him good company. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the music he loved, the paths in nature he explored, and most importantly, in the hearts of his family and friends.
As per Butch’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life in Brainerd, Minnesota at a later date. Details will be made available when arrangements have been finalized.
“I hope your last thought was how deeply you were loved.”
