Regina Meixner Obituary Regina "Gina" A. Meixner, age 81, of Pequot Lakes passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd, surrounded by her family. Gina donated her body to the Mayo Clinic for research and education. A memorial mass will be held at 2:30PM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be from 2PM until the start of mass on Friday at the church. Family and friends are invited to stay for a time of fellowship following mass. Burial will be at a later date in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Gina was born on July 7, 1943 in New Richmond, WI; the daughter of Edward and Mildred (Demulling) LaVenture. She grew up on the family farm and is a graduate of New Richmond High School. Gina furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin River Falls where she received her bachelors degree. She met Mark Meixner; this relationship was a great mathematical probability. The couple was married on June 24, 1967 at St. Annes Catholic Church in Somerset, WI. Gina taught math in Glendale, WI, LeCenter, Mankato, Brainerd and Pine River. She and Mark owned and operated Upper Cullen Resort and Campground for 9 years. She started her real estate career in 1995, working up until the day she died. Gina enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, deer hunting, flower gardening, trips to the family cabin on Eagle Lake (Ontario), bonfires, loving her dogs, riding and having horses; and time spent with family. She was extremely hard working, dedicated, and always there to help another. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Gina is survived by her husband of 57 years, Mark; children, Dan (Karen), Sherry, Sandi (Jeff) Hoag; granddaughters, Madeleine and Delaney Hoag; siblings, Donna, Al (Janet), Marlene, Lucy (Barry), Ken (Vickie), Elaine, Jeanette, Dennis (Debbie), Linda (Wayne); many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald; brothers-in-law, Randy, Ron; and nephew, Brian. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Lady of the Lakes Building Fund or donors choice.
