Richard 'Chub' Klein Obituary Chub Klein of Brainerd, MN passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 95 at his home, surrounded by his children. Chub was born April 30, 1929, in Eckelson, North Dakota to Herman & Ethel (Hass) Klein. As a young child the family moved to a farm in South Brainerd. After graduating from the Brainerd High School in 1947, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served in the Korean War from 1948-1952. After returning to Brainerd, he married Lorna Kleinschmidt in 1953. He worked for 31 years at Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends camping, fishing, hunting and tinkering in his garage. He will also be remembered for his love of popcorn and playing cards. He is survived by his 4 children Cheryl (Clyde) Wilson, Mike (Heidi) Klein, Jeff (Wendy) Klein, Angie (Dave) Farrand; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and sister Lorraine Fait. He is preceded in death by his wife Lorna Klein; children Tom and Linda Klein, his parents Herman & Ethel, brother Al, and sister Leila. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St Andrews Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to gather an hour prior at the church for a visitation, as well as Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 5-7pm at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
