Richard Weiss Obituary Richard Jacob Weiss, 94, of Nisswa, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at Essentia Health St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at St. Christophers Catholic Church in Nisswa. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to Mass and stay for a luncheon to follow. Richard will be interred with Military Honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. Richard was born August 9, 1927, in St. Paul. After school, he enlisted in the US Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, Richard dreamed of becoming a farmer. Life had others plans, however, and he went to work at 3M to support his daughter. He worked there for 37 years before retiring and moving to Nisswa. Once in the Brainerd Lakes Area, Richard met and married Dorothy Esler. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Richard like to garden and go fishing. He was also an active member of St. Christophers where he participated in Missionary Work. He will be missed by his daughter, Jody (Gravelle); grandchildren, Nicole Weiss, Randy (Sadie Ramirez) Dahl, and Mitchell Aguirre; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Kooiman, Raeannin Ramirez Dahl, Leeila Jean Stauffer, A.J. Ramirez Dahl, Novalee Stauffer, and Loki Michael Scott Aguirre; Dorothys children, Bob (Penny) Esler, Ed (Lori) Esler, Todd (Gail) Syrdal, and Marilyn Davis; former daughter-in-law, Darlene Cournoyer; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Jacob and Anna (Weber) Weiss; son-in-law, Jerry Gravelle; and brothers, Eugene and LeRoy.
