Robert Wrobel Obituary Robert Frank Wrobel, age 82, of Deerwood, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 15, 2025, surrounded by love. He was born on February 6, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frank Wrobel and Florence Sumara. Bob was a man of many talents, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to the people and passions he loved. From a young age, he was captivated by model trainsan interest that stayed with him for life and eventually led him to the Northern MN Railroad Heritage Association, where he enjoyed sharing that joy with others. In his younger years, he was also an avid bowler and proudly bowled in three leagues, forming friendships and memories along the way, and a few trophies! Bob found great peace in nature. Whether it was casting a line from his boat or standing on the shore, he knew how to catch fish and found joy in the stillness of the water. He also had a deep appreciation for working with his handshelping Charlene tend her garden, fixing things around the house, or diving into DIY projects with his daughter by his side. One of their most cherished memories was designing and creating lawn ornaments together, a symbol of their special bond. He was meticulous, organized, and always preparedunless it involved plumbing, which he would tackle with a groan and several trips to the hardware store before finally declaring it "good enough." Despite that one exception, Bob was known for his problem-solving skills and quiet perseverance. Bob and Charlene truly enjoyed their involvement with Wild & Free Wildlife Program. They never turned down an opportunity to feed the bear cubs or help set an Eagle free. He had a dry wit and a playful sense of humor that made him a joy to be around. He loved a good book, a challenging Sudoku puzzle, and listening to the music that moved his soul, especially Barry Manilow. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Charlene; his devoted daughter, Cori Wrobel; sister-in-law, Pam (Bob) Ogrodnik; niece, Katie (Brian) LaFavor; nephew, Sam (Melia) Ogrodnik; grandnieces, Penny and Junie; and granddog, Konaall of whom will forever hold him in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Sumara and Frank Wrobel; his beloved son-in-law, Mark Skogen; and several extended family members. Bob will be remembered for his steady presence, thoughtful nature, and the love he gave so freely. His life was filled with quiet moments that mattered deeply, and the world was a little brighter because he was here. Please join Bobs family as they celebrate his life. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Pastor Mark Skinner will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior and stay for a luncheon to follow. Memorials are preferred to Wild and Free Wildlife Program, Bridges of Hope or American Heart Association.
