Roger Kossila Obituary Roger D. Kossila, age 70, of Brainerd died at his home Friday, August 20, 2010. Roger was born in Wadena on June 3, 1940 to William and Alvina (Rothiger) Kossila. Roger served in the U.S. Army for two years. He enjoyed golfing and woodworking. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Kath, children: Dean (Amy) Kossila and Sue Kossila; grandchildren: James, Emily, Patrick Roger, Nick, Zach and Abby Sue; one brother, Rod "Ron" (Marlene) Kossila; sister, Patti (John) Pietruszewski; brother-in-law, Don (Ruby) Johnson; sisters-in-law: Carole (Don) Jenks and Roselynn (Reg) Urness; many nieces and nephews, good friends at the lake and in Arizona, and many Army buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Rev. Bob Twiton officiating. Military honors provided by VFW Post 1647 color guard. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home and the hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
