Sheree Hansen Obituary Sheree Lynn (Couture) Hansen, 67, of Brainerd, MN, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 17, 2024. Sheree was born in Park Rapids, MN on November 8, 1956, to Rodney and Marguerite (Jarboe) Couture. She was the youngest of three siblings and adored by all of them.
She met the love of her life, Randy Hansen, in A Capella Choir during her junior year of high school. Sheree graduated from Brainerd Senior High in 1975, and soon after, she and Randy were married on July 31, 1976. She gave birth to her first daughter, Elissa, on September 21, 1978, and her second daughter, Krista, on August 17, 1981. Sherees world revolved around being a devoted wife to Randy and a loving mother to her two girls.
Once both daughters were in school, she decided to return to work and pursued a teaching degree from Bemidji State University, followed by a Masters degree from the College of Saint Scholastica. Sheree worked at Nisswa Elementary from 1987 until her retirement, forming unforgettable, lifelong friendships.
In retirement, Sheree embraced her roles as a wife, mom, friend, and Nana. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and activities, reading books & book club, singing songs, and simply enjoying their company.
Sheree loved horses from a young age and riding, going on adventures with friends and fulfilling her travel dreams, visiting Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Alaska, Nashville, and spending winters in Florida. She loved visiting her favorite fly-fishing spot on the Boulder River in Big Timber, MT, with her family. She truly made the most of every moment with her grandkids, family, and friends.
Her laughter and joy were infectious, and she had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome with her warmth and smile. Sheree has left a lasting impression on our hearts that will remain with us forever.
Sheree is survived by her husband, Randy Hansen; her two brothers, Brad Couture (Eugene, OR) and Jeff (Deb) Couture (Lake Butler, FL); her two daughters, Elissa (Jon Loss) Hansen (Duluth, MN) and Krista (Drew) Olson (Aitkin, MN); and her four grandchildren, Carter Olson, Evelynn Olson, Francesca Olson, and Hansen Loss.
A visitation hour will start at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, MN, on Saturday, October 26, 2024. After the service, everyone is invited into the Celebration Center to enjoy her favorite desserts and coffee in celebration of Sheree with her family. https://www.lccnisswa.org/
