Stephen Walsh Obituary Stephen Vincent Walsh of Merrifield, Minnesota, age 81, died Saturday, October 14 at his home on Bass Lake. Steve was born on August 11,1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Marguerite (nee Burt) and Vincent Walsh. He married Nancy (nee Peth) Walsh in 1965 and had three children: John (Kathy) Walsh, Mark (Brenda) Walsh, and Jennifer Walsh. Steve earned a Bachelors degree at the University of Chicago and his Masters degree from IIT. He worked as a Project Manager at IBM for 35 years. Upon retirement, Steve and Nancy moved permanently to Merrifield, Minnesota to their place on the lake that had been in Steves family for half a century. He is survived by his three children, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his sister Patricia Rawlings of Franklin, Illinois. In his retirement he was active with the Nisswa Lions Club where he devoted much time to their vision screening program in schools. He was also active in St. Francis Catholic Church where he served as a eucharistic minister and volunteered in pastoral services at St. Josephs Medical Center. Steve was a devoted husband, dedicated father, and loving grandfather. He will be missed by so many. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to Mass and to stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at Center Township Cemetery in Merrifield.
