Steven Berndt Obituary Steven Berndt, 77, passed away on November 26, 2024, at his home in Pillager, surrounded by his loved ones. Services with military honors will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00p.m., at The Free Methodist Church in Motley. Family and friends are invited to gather from 12-2:00p.m. for the visitation. Luncheon to follow the service.
Steven Adolph Berndt was born on February 22, 1947, to parents Adolph & Joye Berndt, in Algona, Iowa. Steve married the love of his life, Doris Brown, on October 15, 1965. They spent 58 beautiful years together. To this union, three children were born Steve Jr. (Clyde) Berndt, Shiela Smith, and Stanley Berndt.
Steve was dedicated to his country. He served his country for a total of 28 years between the Army and the National Guards. He enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors hunting and fishing. Most importantly, he loved spending his time with his children and grandchildren. He really enjoyed telling stories to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Steven is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris Berndt; daughter, Shiela (Scott) Smith; son, Stanley (Debra) Berndt; 11 grandchildren, Brittany Berndt, Chantel Smith, Thomas (Ashley) Smith, Bradley Berndt, Dezmond (Samantha) Berndt, Austin Berndt, Hayden (Faith) Smith, Ethan Berndt; 11 great-grandchildren and two more on the way; sister, Sharon Joslin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph & Joye Berndt; son, Steven Jr. (Clyde)Berndt; sister, Sandra Berndt; and others who welcomed him home to his final resting place.
