Sybille Abt Obituary Sybille Barbara Abt (Mueller) passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at St Joseph Medical Center in Brainerd, MN with family by her side. She was 96 years old. Sybille was born January 23, 1929, to Carl and Louise Mueller. She attended Catholic School as a child and as a teenager she worked on a farm. She continued her education and became a nurse. As a young woman Sybille married Russell Abt, they lived in Germany and enjoyed an active social life with many friends. They had one baby, a son named Jacob who passed away as an infant. Eventually they moved to the United States to be closer to family. After settling in the twin cities, they adopted their son Steven. The small family lived several years in Malmo, Minnesota and then Palisade, Minnesota where Russell would pass away after a short battle with cancer. Sybille would remain in Palisade and while there she adopted her daughter Nicole. Sybille moved several times, and Brainerd became her home in 2009 until she passed away. Sybille was a great cook who loved making meals for her friends and family. She also baked and was known for the cookies, cakes and other sweet treats she made. Sybille enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She attended many craft sales with her nieces. Sybille loved her family and was an involved Oma to her grandchildren and a beloved Aunt Billa to her nieces and nephews. Sybille had many friends in the communities and buildings she lived in. She was a true friend, always generous with her time and resources. She attended Faith Baptist Church where she frequently provided meals to anyone who had a need. She always looked forward to the fellowship at the sr lunch every month. Sybille leaves behind her children Steve (Becky), Jacobson, MN and Nicole, Brainerd, MN; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; her infant son, Jacob and her sister, Irma. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.
