Theodora Soucie Obituary Theodora Frances Soucie, age 102, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society - Bethany. Dora Frances Schiller was born on January 1, 1908, the daughter of Rudolph and Marie (Pliska) Schiller in Fresava, Czechoslovakia. In 1908 the Schiller family - Rudolph, Marie, daughter Anna (age 4) Mary (age 1 1/2), and Dora (6 mo.) left from Marvia Czechoslovakia on the steamship, Bremen, for America. They came to Victoria, MN to stay with Marie's sister. They then moved to Chaska, where Dora received her education. They moved to Silver Lake, MN where she worked in Jorgenson Hotel as a cook's helper. She moved to Minneapolis where Dora married Clifford Soucie. She worked in the defense plant and also did housework. They moved to Grand Rapids, MN and then to Brainerd, MN. Dora was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and she belonged to the Brainerd Garden Club, the Baxter Birthday Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Cliff Soucie died September 1964. Dora is survived by her son, Robert (Marlys) Schiller of Brainerd; brother, Rudy Schiller of Sartell and other relatives. She was preceded in death by husband, Clifford; her parents, Rudolph and Marie; sisters, Anna, Mary, Mildred, Helen and Sophie; brothers, Frankie, George and John Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Reverend Harvey Peterson officiating Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd Visitation will be held from 4 P.M. until the time of services.
