Yvonne Halverson Obituary Yvonne Arliss Halverson, 88, of Brainerd, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Good Samaritan Village Woodland Campus. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at a later date at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. Yvonne was born November 5, 1933, in Leads, North Dakota, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Engstrom) Waller. She married John Halverson and they raised their family in Mankato where Yvonne worked as a cook at the high school. She enjoyed flower gardening, ceramics, and watching birds. She was a fan of country music and had a big, sweet tooth. Yvonne traveled to France and Norway and hiked in Aspen. Above all, she loved her family. She will be missed by her daughters, Lynne Halverson, of Ely and Joan Rosenberg, of Brainerd; son, Jim (Linda) Halverson, of Brainerd; granddaughter, Emily (Bertrand) Charry-Tissier; great-granddaughter, Agathe; sister, Janice Gustafson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; grandson, Gabriel; parents; brother, Arlo "Bud" Waller; and sister, Arlene Stromberg.
