Beverly L. Savor, 87, of Brainerd, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Good Samaritan Village-Woodland Campus.
A memorial Service honoring Bev will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a luncheon to follow.
Bev was born March 7, 1935, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Geraldine (Louismit) Tang. After school, she helped raise her siblings until she married James Savor in 1955. The couple started their life in Brainerd, moving to Florida when Jim started working at Cape Canaveral. Bev enjoyed being active in her children’s lives as a Den Mother and Assistant Preschool teacher. She also had a strong faith and appreciated her church community where she was active in the Alter Guild and served as Guild Secretary. In addition to caring for her family, Bev also enjoyed baking and cooking. She started baking cakes for special occasions out of her home when the family moved to Chattanooga, TN. She turned this side business into a very successful small business when she opened her tearoom which expanded to her restaurant the Sweet-N-Savory. She operated the business for more than 20 years expanding to catering large events and serving a river boat while creating truly amazing cakes and baked goods. The needs of her family always came first, and it was no surprise she moved to Brainerd to care for her in-laws as they aged. Bev’s love of family was paramount and spending time with her children and grandchildren never failed to bring huge smiles to her face.
She is very loved and will be forever missed by her children, Michael (Lois) Savor, Louis (Melanie) Savor, Timothy Savor, Jeffrey Savor, and Dianna (Robert) Crandall; grandchildren, Dana, Buddy, Amber, Jeremy, Emily, Amy, Sarah, Natalie, Haley, Sammi; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Joanna, Cameron, Nicholas, Melanie, Ayden, Jackson, and Desmond; and siblings, Roberta, Charlaine, and Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Joseph and Geraldine; and brother, Roger.
