Connie was born November 10, 1945, in Brainerd, the daughter of Howard and Edna (Nelson) Isle. After graduating high school, Connie continued her education at Mankato State University where she earned a degree in Elementary & Special Education. She then got a master’s degree in Psychology & Counseling from St. Cloud State University. Connie was passionate about educating not only our youth but ensuring the teachers in charge of our youth had the tools and skills to do their best. She did this across the country and in Belgium, Egypt, and Australia. She taught in the outback of Australia, started up the special education program at the International School of Brussels, and was the school psychologist in the American School of Cairo. In addition, she taught at various schools all over Minnesota. Wherever she taught she was loved by her students and faculty alike.
Connie was happiest when traveling, reading, and talking about new ventures. Her smile lit up a room and her kindness and positiveness were contagious. Connie met her husband, Frank at their 30-year class reunion in 1994. Since that time, they have shared 27 years of pure joy. Her family will always be grateful for Connie teaching them to love life no matter what it threw at them.
She will be missed by her husband, Frank Nader; daughter, Darcy Christiansen; son, Jeremy Christiansen; grandchildren, Layna Isle Vancauteren, Imanuel Vancauteren, Fiona Stroeykens, Enya Stroeykens, and Noah Christiansen; and her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kathy Isle; any many nieces and nephews.
