Craig Martin Johnson, 58, of Green Valley, AZ, formerly of Brainerd, passed away at his home on October 6, 2023. 

A Celebration of Craig’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at Nelson – Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.  Family and friends are invited to gather ½ hour prior to services.  Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Craig was born on Halloween in 1964 and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1983.  He enlisted in the US Army and served his country for three years. Craig was his brother, Chris’, personal care attendant for 28 years.  He had a compassionate heart and enjoyed helping the elderly.  In addition, he also volunteered many hours at his church – Southern Arizona Community Church in Green Valley, AZ.  He was a sports enthusiast and avid golfer. 

He will be missed by his brother, Michael Johnson (Delores); sisters, Gwen Imgrund (Ron) and Kim Kirk (Lyndon); uncle, Bob Johnson; aunts, Darnell Klein and Joan Johnson; and many extended family members including cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick” and Joanne Johnson; brother, Chris; maternal grandparents, Walter and Harriet Zachman; and paternal grandparents, Raymond and Maria Johnson.

Memorials are preferred to either the US Customs and Border Patrol’s Canine Unit or Southern Arizona Community Church and can be sent to Nelson – Doran Funeral Home (202 8th Avenue NE – Brainerd, MN 56401).
