Obituary

Cynthia Lou “Cindi” Albiston, 69, of Eden Prairie, formerly of the Brainerd Lakes Area, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Mayo Clinic – Methodist Campus in Rochester. 

A Celebration of Cindi’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Nelson – Doran Funeral Home.  Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a luncheon to follow.  Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will happen at a later date.

Cindi was born January 1, 1954, in Fridley, the daughter of Floyd and Betty Lou (Larson) Demery. After high school, Cindi began a long career as an administrative assistant. She was an animal lover who especially enjoyed walking her two mini schnauzers. Cindi loved to listen to Classic Rock and spent hours quilting.  Her favorite holiday was Halloween; she never missed a chance to dress up in her witches’ garb and give a good cackle.

She will be missed by her mom, Betty Lou; children, Joe Johnson and Kevra (Derrick) Cherne; stepchildren, Sean (Annie) Albiston and Sheila Albiston; grandchildren, Piper Johnson, Matthew Cherne, Christopher Cherne, Rayah Unger, Emily Cherne, Bryce Unger, Jordan Cherne, Ruby Albiston, Rex Albiston, Sierra Freid, Bode Albiston and Brent Albiston; and siblings, Tammy Dingman and Steven (Lori) Meyer.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary (2011); dad, Floyd; stepson, Scott Albiston (1997); grandson, Timothy Freid; and brother, Paul.
