Dave Thomsen

Dave Thomsen of Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully in his home on November 3, 2021.  He was born on April 1, 1939 in Gjving, Norway to Ole Thomsen and Borghild Kristensen.

Dave retired from Furman University as the Student Center Facilitator.  He was a kind, loving, spirited man and loved working with his hands.  He enjoyed building everything from bird houses, benches, rock waterfalls to building a few houses.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Fran Thomsen; brother, Tom Thomsen; sister, Mary Ballew.  His nine children; Jim Thomsen, Jerry Thomsen, David Thomsen, Todd Thomsen, Heather Mills, Greg Thomsen, Cray Thomsen, Ember Hestrin and Leigh Everette; his 17 grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ole and Borghild Thomsen; brother, William Thomsen; sister, Torbjorg Buchanan.

Funeral services will be later in Minnesota at Dave’s homestead July 11, 2022.
