David Alan Borg

David Alan Borg, of Brainerd, was welcomed back into the arms of his Mother, who he loved dearly, on Friday, January 1, 2021, at the age of 75.

David was born on December 24, 1945 in Brainerd to Bernard and Mynerva (Bourquin) Borg. He was a hard-working farmer, and tavern owner for 25 years and he also worked for the railroad for 9 years. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling, boxing, traveling, and talking about the good ol’ days with family and friends. He loved his “old western” movies, but not as much as he loved his Gayle.

David will be dearly missed by Gayle Borg; children, Wendy (Shane) Tibbetts, Cindy (Shawn) Tibbetts, Landy (Paul) DeRosier and Brett (Jill) Borg; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Dalton, Alexander, Michael, Kaitlyn, Riley and Lilly. He is also survived by siblings, Caroline Borg, William (Debra) Borg, Kathleen Kounkel, Annette (David) Stetler and Jeffrey Borg; nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Mynerva; brothers, Richard Borg, John Borg; sisters, Diane Borg, Patricia Esler.

A celebration of life with family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
