David Thomas Jensen, 79, of Nisswa, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at A Daughter’s Love Assisted Living in Staples. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Crosslake Lutheran Church. If you prefer to listen to the service in the Parking Lot at the church, you are welcome to do so.
Dave was born May 31, 1941, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Hans and Marie (Buchman) Jensen. He grew up on the family farm and there began his passion for Farmall Tractors. He graduated from Harding High School and attended Macalester College. He was a jack of all trades with the ability to do welding, carpentry, and general maintenance. For most of his career, he worked for Norlake Refrigeration in Hudson, WI. Dave was creative and often channeled that in his woodworking. He liked to work jigsaw puzzles and was a dog lover. He and his wife, Karen also enjoyed tending their large garden or challenging one another to another game of cribbage.
Dave lived in St. Paul, Lake St. Croix Beach, Lakeland, and Woodbury before retiring to Merrifield, and finally making Nisswa his home.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Kristin Tomonovich, of Baxter and Karilyn (Dan) Jansen, of Hudson; grandson, Joshua Tomonovich; brother, Joseph (Joyce) Jensen, of Wyoming; nephews, Jeff, Mike, and Billy Jensen; and many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen in 2018 and his parents.
