David A. Lamser, 78, passed away January 26 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. No services will be held at this time.
David was born March 2, 1942 in Petoskey, MI to Robert and Dorothy Lamser. He graduated May 1960 from Pine City, MN and immediately enlisted in the Navy. He was Honorably Discharged and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after 20 plus years of service. He married Janet Dutemple May 17th, 1967 in McHenry, IL. They returned to Brainerd in 1980 to help run the family resort on Round Lake. David spent his later years working with small engines and parts management. David was outgoing, social, and always had a smile and a story. He could often be found in in his woodshop creating sawdust. He created beautiful furniture, bowls, and his "wood art". After retiring, his motorhome was his home away from home. He planned and took many trips, it didn't matter how big or small. He might be going to Maryland to visit his son or to Park Rapids to visit his sister. His favorite trip every year was the annual "Family Gathering".
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Jim.
He is survived by his wife Janet, son Robert (Rita) Pamplin, daughter AnnMarie Lamser, son Michael (Amy) Lamser, daughter Dorrie (Eric) Stotko, and seven grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister and brothers Barb (Dan) Martin, Laurel (Mark) Baxter, Theresa Lamser Gerads, Sandy Lamser Overman, Steven Lamser, Stephanie Lamser, Robert Lamser, April Lamser, Kristi Lamser, John Lamser and many nieces and nephews.
