Obituary

Garold Ray Holman, 81, of Brainerd, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society – Bethany.  Gary was born on January 18, 1941 to Glen & Evelyn Holman in Ortonville, MN.  He graduated in 1960 from North High in Minneapolis. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965.  In his younger years Gary was a Golden Glove boxer and avid bowler. In 1969 he was united in marriage to Janice C. Lund. Together they had three children. He moved to Brainerd in the early 1980’s. Gary loved the lakes area and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf.  He retired from Super America as Shift Manager after working there for over 20 years.  

Gary was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Boyd and Dennis, sister-in-law Jeannie (Plaisance) Holman, sister-in-law Carol (Johnson) Holman and grandson Jacob Ray Holman. Gary is survived by his three children, Lisle (Stephen) Holman Richardson, Tara Coffman (Bryon Nelson) and Glen Holman, sister Carol (John) Carlyle, brother Robert Holman and grandchildren, Rian Holman, Jessica Emerson, Ranelle Emerson, Steven Coffman, Kate Coffman, Damean Holman, Shannon Holman, Austin Holman, Gabrielle Holman, Paige Nelson, Nathan Nelson, Jace Nelson; and great grandchildren Michael, Alex, Ashlynn, Terra and Jacob.  

A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Nelson - Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.  Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a lunch to follow.
