Gerald “Jerry” Isle, 85, of Baxter, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held at a later date.
Jerry was born January 23, 1936, in Brainerd, the son of Clyde and Helen (Ross) Isle. After graduating from high school, Jerry continued his education at the University of Minnesota. He enlisted in the US Army and served for 4 years. Jerry began a career in finance that spanned 50 years, during which time he lived in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Scottsdale, and San Diego before moving back home to Brainerd.
Jerry’s life in Alcoholics Anonymous was his greatest love and passion. He literally helped hundreds of people in AA over the 40 years he was sober. He continued to attend AA meetings, carry the message of AA, and helping others until his death.
Jerry enjoyed going out to dinner, long drives, going to movies, and meeting friends at Adirondack Coffee House in Nisswa and Wings Airport Cafe.
He is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Altilio and Christine Lucci; and grandchildren, Willow Altilio, Max Lamare, and Jimmy Lucci. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister who died as an infant.
