Gertrude E. (Meyers) Holtkamp

Gertrude “Gert” Holtkamp, 101, of Brainerd, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are welcome to gather Sunday afternoon from 4 – 6 p.m. at Nelson – Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Monday. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.

Gertrude Elizabeth was born February 16, 1920, in Sauk Centre, MN, the daughter of Al and Marie (Wruck) Meyers. For more than 45 years, Gert worked at Northwestern Bell as a switchboard operator. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and enjoyed being active in her Faith community, especially her guild and CCW events. Gert married Bernard “Barney” Holtkamp and they enjoyed many years together before he passed away in 1973.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Barney; brothers, Ray, Jay, Del and Don Meyers; sisters, Margaret “Muggs” Meyers and Jeanette “Pat” Meyers; and infant sister, Joan.
