Harvey Thomas Samson

Harvey Thomas Samson, age 78, of Brainerd and formerly Apple Valley, MN was called home to his Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020 with family by his side.

Preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Elvira and wife Katie.

 Harvey was born in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1959. He earned a degree in Land Surveying from Dunwoody in 1961 and served as a surveyor in the Army from 1962 to 1965. Harvey was a Professional Land Surveyor his entire career and part owner of Peters, Price & Samson Land Surveyors for almost 20 years. Harvey enjoyed watching and quoting Laurel and Hardy, Twins baseball, living lakeside and walking his beloved dog, Maggie.

 He is survived by his wife Margaret (‘Midge’) Shaw, sons Richard (Jill), Robert (Sue), step-son David (Janie) Shaw, step-daughter Kristin (Bill) Fanning, grandchildren Sydney, Jack, Branden, Colin, Cooper, Soren, Bjorn and Anders; brothers and sisters Elsa (Kari) Hough, Linda (Rod) Beck, Phillip (Deby) Samson, Richard Samson and Albert Samson.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the professionals and staff at Essentia Health Oncology and St. Croix Hospice. A small private service for family is scheduled for Monday, August 3, 2020. A live stream will be available through Nelson-Doran Funeral Home's Facebook Page.
