Jennifer Hoffman Obituary

Jennifer Catherine Olson Hoffman passed away peacefully at her home she shared with her mother who has been her lifelong friend on Sunday, February 23, 2020.

Jennifer was born a twin with brother Jonathan Robert Olson in Worthington, MN to Catherine T. Olson and Robert E. Olson on October 4, 1954.  She attended elementary school at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Wilmont, MN. In 1962, Jenny moved to Owatonna with her family where graduated Marion High School in 1972 and was chosen as “Ms. MHS”.  Jennifer was employed in a family business, Hardware Hank, where she was the bookkeeper from 1972-1989 while she was also employed at the Brainerd Area Civic Center as a bookkeeper. After leaving the Civic Center she became the gambling manager for H.A.R.T from 1994-2020.

Jenny married Kevin Hoffman on September 4, 1977, they had two children Ahnna Wing (Jason) Anthony Hoffman (Carissa).  Jenny was a very social, fun-loving, outgoing individual and everyone knew her wherever she went. When Jennifer became ill, her loving twin brother, Jonny cared for her never leaving her side.  He assisted in getting her healthy enough to spend the last few months at home with her mother. Jennifer was blessed with a life well lived and always being surrounded by her close-knit loving family.

Jennifer is survived by her children, Ahnna and Anthony; grandchildren Molly,  Cameron, Dylan Wing and Lylia Hoffman; Jenny’s mother and longtime housemate Catherine T Olson; siblings, Julie (Jim) Kaul, Mark Olson, Stephen Olson, Jonathan R. Olson, MaryBeth (Tom) Luckemeyer, Lisa (Mike) Morgan, Eric (Juli) Olson, Ellen (John) Fussy, Therese Johnson, and Christopher (Laurie) Olson; and  many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Olson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, February 29th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis Church, visitation one-hour prior.  Arrangements by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
