Justin Wade Bandel

Justin Wade Bandel, 38, of Brooklyn Center, formerly of Brainerd, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.  Justin's family will celebrate his life with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Oak Street Chapel in Brainerd.

Justin was born August 15, 1984, in Brainerd, the son of Wade Bandel and Lisa Newdall. He was an intelligent man who had varied interests – spiritual and religious studies topped that list and helping his Granny on her farm.  Justin had a curiosity for figuring out the universe as well as people’s beliefs and faith structures. He was spiritually strong and wise in the word of God. He was very protective of the women in his life and would be considered a ‘Gentle Giant’ by many. His taste in music was as eclectic as the books he read. His quick wit made his family laugh often and made him easy to be around. He had a way of keeping everyone on their toes, there was never a dull moment with Justin around or a nephew or niece he didn’t adore.

He will be dearly missed by his dad, Wade; sister, Alicia (Nicholas Peterson) Bandel; brother, Christian Bandel; girlfriend, Charity Schmatz; grandparents, Judy & Jim Bandel and Mary Kay Newdall; aunt, Tracy Bandel; uncle, Troy (Dawn) Bandel; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Serenity, Liam, Mayzie, Isabell, Orion and one on the way; and many extended family members and friends.  He preceded in death by his mom, Lisa; siblings, Natalie and Nigel; best friend and cousin, Logan Brodahl; grandpa, William Newdall; aunt, Ann; and uncle, Jamie.
