Kathleen Knuth Obituary

Kathleen J. Knuth, (aka Kathy, Utti), age 92 of Pequot Lakes formerly of Glencoe, MN, entered eternal life on November 16, 2021, at Senior Class Community in Pequot Lakes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 9:00 am at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes. A wake service will be held at St. Alice on Monday, November 22 from 5-7pm. The committal will be at 2:00 pm in Glencoe, MN, at St. Pius X Cemetery.

Kathy was born on July 12, 1929, Waseca, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Edna (Haushahn) Betchwars. Kathy was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waseca and Albert Lea School of Nursing. She married Delbert Knuth on August 14, 1951 in Albert Lea, MN.

Kathy worked as a nurse in many facilities, including a hospital in Rhode Island while Del was in the Navy. They moved to Glencoe, MN, after he was discharged. In Glencoe, she worked at the local hospital, in clinic work, and ended her nursing career as a charge nurse in Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glencoe.

Kathy enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, many forms of needle work and crafts, sewing, reading, writing, and many activities with her 7 grandchildren.

Survivors include: children: Michael (Lori), Billy (David Danelek), Katherine Schuch, Wayne (Anne); grandchildren: Nathan (Aideé) Knuth, Kristi (Tom) Quinlan, Maria Knuth, Sr. Theresa Anne Knuth, OP, Jacinta (Jerry) Wick; Natalie and Alex Knuth; great grandchildren: Maria Andrea Knuth, Daniel and Matthew Quinlan, Zellie-Rose, Regina, and Magdalena Wick; sister Jeanie Swift, sister-in-law Marie Rommel; brother-in-law Werner (Jacki) Knuth and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband Delbert Knuth and son-in-law Chuck Schuch.
