Larry was born May 21, 1944, in Zimmermann, the devoted son of Sydney and Emma (Danner) Smith. After graduating high school, Larry went to work. He was a hard worker who truly was a Jack of All Trades. He was a firearm instructor. He liked hunting, trap shooting and fishing – especially when he got to travel to do it. He was a faithful man who was an active church leader. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. He ensured they were taught how to do things the “right away”.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Lehn) Smith; children, Darcy (Terry) Otto, Heidi (Chad) Culbertson, and Michael Smith; grandchildren, Dylan (Bobbi), Casey (Ashley), Sydney, Travis (Heidi), Joseph; two great-grandchildren, Alan and Lincoln; sister-in-law, Mary Sullivan; brother-in-law, Ron Lehn; and many extended family members and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Merlyn Ann Kreger.
