Laurel Lee (Feierabend) Waddell, 82, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Edgewood Vista.
A Celebration of Laurel’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Nelson – Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. and again one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion and the celebration will continue at SHEPS on 6th.
Laurel was born June 13, 1939, the daughter of Lester and Francis (Foote) Feierabend. After graduating from Washington High School, she married Tad Waddell on June 13, 1959. They raised three girls: Roxanne, Natalie, and Wendy. She lost the love of her life, Tad, on November 24, 1983, and she never remarried.
Laurel worked for Northwestern Bell while her children were growing up. After the business closed, Laurel worked as a waitress and bartender at many local establishments. She was loved by all who knew her.
Her life ended surrounded by her loved ones and the staff at Edgewood Vista. Laurel’s family cannot ever thank them enough. They adored her there and she was their resident “Grandma.” They showed her an immense amount of love.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Roxanne (Joe Logan) Korchari, Natalie (Tony) Goble, and Wendy (Steve) Smolke; grandchildren, Justin (Dusty) Goble, Joshua (Sara) Goble, Marissa (A.J.) Franzen, Jordan Korchari, Abby Korchari, Taylor Korchari, Christopher Smolke, Nathan (Laura) Smolke, and Jennifer (Patrick) Donnelly; great-grandchildren, Atika, Kennidi, and Castor Goble, Talan and Taytum Goble, Lucy, Millie, and Hank Franzen, Aiden Korchari, Bella Johnson, Asher Smolke, and one on the way; siblings, Tom (Penny) Feierabend, Cherrie Alholm, Angie Feierabend, Debbie (Mike) Schuety, and Art (Sue) Feierabend; sisters-in-law, Marlys Waddell and Arlene Waddell; many nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count! She was preceded in death by her husband, Tad; parents, Lester and Fran; brother, Dale Feierabend; in-laws, Joseph and Laura Waddell; nephews, Doug Feierabend and Jason Davis; and brothers-in-law, Terry Alholm and Joe “Buzz” Waddell.
