Linda Gronholz Obituary

Linda M. Gronholz, 74, passed away at her home in Breezy Point, MN on October 13, 2021. She was born January 30, 1947, in Waterville, MN, the oldest of Jim and Mary Gronholz’s six children. Linda graduated from Le Center High School in 1965. She attended Winona State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. After graduating she got her first teaching job in Kewaskum, WI, where she met many wonderful students and coworkers.

In 1974, she moved back to Le Center and accepted a position as an elementary teacher. Linda also coached girls’ tennis where she met Donna (Brinton) Hawkins, who became a life-long friend. Linda thoroughly enjoyed her time teaching and coaching and, in her retirement, would often talk about her students.

In 1983, Linda changed careers and began selling Supreme School Supplies. Jim, her father was retiring from this position, so Linda made the hard decision to leave teaching. Linda drove the state of Minnesota - visiting school administrators, principals, and secretaries to service their supply needs.

In 1986, she moved to the Brainerd Lakes area. Over the years, Linda built and owned three different homes in the area, and a cabin on the gun flint trail. She loved taking care of her young nephews and nieces, camping, swimming, and waterskiing. She always had a job or many and was active in her community.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Beata Gronholz; and nephew, Trent Gronholz.

She is survived by her sisters, Debra Gronholz (Crystal), Jolene Connors (Mike), Paula Gronholz; brother, Curt Gronholz (Deb); niece, Holly Connolly Lustig; nephews, John Connolly, Joe Connolly (Michelle), Cole Gronholz (Kari), Justin Gronholz (Laura), Christian Gronholz (Ali); great-nieces, Majia Gronholz, Evie Rose Gronholz, Brianna Lustig, Madison Connolly, Chloe Connolly, Kennedy Ann Connolly, Matilda Larson, Nicole Hadler, Alison Hadler, Macy Hadler; great-nephews, Chase Gronholz, Brecken Gronholz, Cullen Gronholz, Killian Gronholz, Evan Connolly, Cole Connolly, Sam Lustig, Boden Larson, Jack Hadler; and honorary family members, Donna, Katie and Isla.

She will be missed by her family, friends, and her loving dog, Lola.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021, at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to Mass and to stay for a lunch to follow. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Nicollet.

Memorials preferred to H.A.R.T. in Brainerd or Babinski Foundation.
