Lois R. (Sanders) Bettschen

Lois R. Bettschen, 77, of Baxter, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the St. Cloud Hospital.  A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd.  Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services.  Interment will be at a later date at Baxter City Cemetery.

Lois was born July 30, 1944, in Detroit Lakes, MN, the daughter of Glen and Edna (Bierman) Sanders.  She grew up on the Iron Range and after graduating high school, Lois furthered her education and received her cosmetology license.  She moved to Minneapolis where she met David Bettschen.  The couple made Brainerd their home. She enjoyed being a mother and as her sons grew up, she worked as a cashier and a PCA. 

Lois was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.  She was very active in her church – Park United Methodist.  She and David enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida.  Above all, Lois cherished her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Lois will be missed by her sons, Donald (Janice) and Bob (Missy); grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler (Alyssa), Michael, Kendra Bost, Brandon (Alli) Dunford, Gideon, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Arianna, and Benjamin; sister, Dorothy Leach; sister-in-law, Elise (Donald) Mink; and nephews, David, Scott, Wade, Warren, Ross, and Steve.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David and her parents, Glen and Edna.

Memorials are preferred to Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd.
