Lorraine Rose Montgomery, 93, of Brainerd, died Friday, November 13, 2020 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center.  A Celebration of Lorraine’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Nelson – Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.  Family and friends are invited to gather one-hour prior.  Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Lorraine was born October 4, 1927, in Brainerd, the daughter of Wilbert and Eva (Barto) Gildart.  After graduating from high school Lorraine married Marvin Montgomery.  The two made their home in Brainerd and were blessed with three sons.  In addition to caring for her family, Lorraine worked for SuperValu for many years.  She later worked as a Media Technician at Washington and Franklin Middle Schools until she retired.  Lorraine loved gardening and was especially fond of her rose bushes, tomato plants and cucumbers.  She and her best friend, Mae Fort, loved to go camping and travel together.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She will be missed by her sons, Mark (Janelle), of Fort Ripley, Marty, of New Orleans, and Scott (Linda) of East Dubuque, IL; grandchildren, Erik, Amy, Jennifer and Aaron; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and her lifelong friend, Mae Fort.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; parents, Wilbert and Eva; brothers, Melvin and Pete Gildart; and sister, Carol Harrigan.
