Lyman Dahl Obituary

Lyman D. Dahl, 72, of Brainerd, passed away September 25, 2021, at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Private Services will be held at a later date.

Lyman was born April 23, 1949, in Bemidji, the son of Walter and Sarah (Tisdell) Dahl. After graduating from high school in 1967, he enlisted in the US Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam and continued his service to his country when discharged. He was a National Guard member for more than 20 years. Lyman graduated from Bemidji State University with a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement. He began his career with the Brainerd Police Department and was an FBI National Academy graduate. He retired as Captain in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Todd (Jennifer) Dahl; and grandchildren, Tyler Dahl and Abby (Kolt) Herron. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon and his parents.
