Mary Jane (Fox) Peterson

Mary Peterson, age 86 of Brainerd, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd. Friends and family are invited to gather for one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Mary was born on November 1, 1934 to Henry and Myrtle (Partlow) Fox in Brainerd. She was proud to be a lifelong Brainerd resident, only having moved two blocks from where she was born. She worked for Brainerd Public Utilities for 32 years. She took pride in being independent and will be remembered for her strong will. Mary enjoyed coloring, word finds, knitting and attending church trips.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Colleen) Peterson and Lisa (Phillip) McConville; six grandchildren, Hannah, Meghan and Emmalyn McConville, and Scott, Erin and Henry Peterson; and one sister, Nancy Schmidt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Peterson; and one sister, Lois Rust.

Arrangements are being completed by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
