Michael Kruchten Obituary

Michael Leo Kruchten was born to Arnold P and Magdalena (Lena Neeser) Kruchten on August 12, 1934, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a.m., on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Mathias Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 5:00-7:00p.m., for a visitation at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Saturday.

Mike met the love of his life, Jean Chounard, on Thanksgiving 1955 and they married on February 21, 1956. The couple made a home in Brainerd and later moved to Little Falls. Currently they reside in Fort Ripley, Minnesota.

Mike worked at W.W. Thompson and Concrete in Brainerd for 16 years before moving to Little Falls in 1962. He then worked for Larson Boats until retirement in 1988 due to a work-related injury. Mike enjoyed deer hunting, watching wrestling, taking care of his chickens, ducks, and anything else he would have on a hobby farm. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean; seven children, Delores (Ed) Jackson of Texas, Bradley of Minneapolis MN, Brian (Rhonda) of Royalton MN, Bruce (Angie) of Baxter MN, William (Julie) of Brainerd MN, Debra (Ronald) Stout of Fort Ripley MN, Michael (Jamie) of Pillager MN; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold, and Lena; 12 siblings, Merlin, Eleanor, Rudolph, Eugene, Geraldine Scepurek, Delores, Victoria Rudolph, Jermone, Donald, Richard, Mary Ann Rudolph, and Theresa DesRosiers; granddaughter, Leiana Kruchten and one great-grandson, Loki Perry.
