Mildred Irene (Kyllingstad) Morgan, age 104, passed away Sunday, May 17, in her home at Woodland Good Samaritan Apartments, Brainerd. She was born March 4, 1916, in Valley City, ND, to Blix and Nora (Huseby) Kyllingstad. Shortly after her birth the family moved back to Minnesota. Mildred grew up on a farm in Pine River and graduated from Pine River High School, class of 1934. In 1936 she married John P. Morgan in Jenkins, MN. Mildred was a homemaker and raised 6 children. They moved to Brainerd in 1952 and from 1964 until 1974 she worked as a bookkeeper at Auto Import together with her sister, Mardelle Parker.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband; son, John Roger Morgan; grandson, Randall Jon Morgan; brothers, Byron and Sid Kyllingstad; and sisters, Eleonore Abeln, Eva Dohnalek, Carol Simonson and Patsy Kyllingstad. She is survived by three sons: Warren (Beverly) Morgan and Jim Morgan of Brainerd, Steven (Marcia) Morgan of Soldotna, AK; two daughters: Joan Morgan and June (Harley) Ellis of Brainerd; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Mardelle Parker of Mesa, AZ and Audrey Thompson of Shoreline, WA.

A celebration of Mildred’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Nelson – Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. All are welcome to attend the interment at Mildred Cemetery in Pine River after the service has concluded.
