Norma Matson Obituary

Norma Jeanne (McCalvy) Matson, 88, of Brainerd, passed away June 3, 2021 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Reverend Mark Skinner will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Norma was born October 5, 1932, in Brainerd, the daughter of Howard and Margaret (Olsen) McCalvy. On April 6, 1952, she was united in marriage to Julius Matson in Brainerd.

She will be missed by her children, Mike (Pam) Matson, Julie (Kim) Meyer, and Brent Matson; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with a seventh due in July; brother, Dallas (Terry) McCalvy; and sister-in-law, LaVonne McCalvy. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Mark; parents; brother, Jim McCalvy; and sister, Marcia McCalvy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Vista and St. Croix Hospice for their excellent care and love.
